Choose Day

So today has been one of those superbusy days again but they are also good days because I hardly have time to think of anything. It also feels as though the schallenge is getter a little bit easier every day. One thing that I am focusing on is making sure that I am adequately prepared for the next day. I think that one of the main things that causes a healthy eating plan to fail is a lack of preparation and planning. It is so easy to make the unhealthy choice these days and therefore preparation is key. I heard a snippet of a very interesting radio program on 702 this morning and wish I could have heard the whole talk. One of the interesting things that they said was that humans are now eating about 300% more calories per day than what they did in the 70’s. Yet this is not necessarily leading to the weight gain that one would have expected and that a calorie is just not a calorie.  The focus should be on the quality of the calories that you consume as that could also have a major impact on how your body reacts to it. One should also be more aware of what you are eating and try and focus on “pure” food – food that you have prepared and thus know exactly what it contains compared to processed ready meals (which are usually the easy option). That is one thing that the challenge is making us all more aware of, namely being 100%in control of what you are eating and the preparation thereof.

I received very exciting news today!! I won a competition in the Visi magazine!! And this celebratory hamper will probably only be delivered in the next 8 weeks so just in time to have a celebratory drink at the end of the Schallenge!! ;)

So today is Choose day and just a reminder that every day we make the choice to stay committed to this journey. So make the most of this choice each and every day!
